UFC 62 was an exciting and electrifying night of fights with plenty of stars and celebrities on hand to watch
the fights. Let's start out with the main event Chuck Liddell Vs. Renato Sobral. A rematch from 3
years ago when Chuck Liddell Knocked out Sobral with a kick to the face. Sobral has since won 10 fights in
a row and has said that all he ever thinks about is beating Chuck Liddell. Chuck and Sobral weighed in the
night  before both at 205 pounds. Round 1 started with Renato Sobral coming out throwing punches and
kicks at Chuck being very aggressive. Chuck patiently was setting up his punches when Renato landed a
right and started chasing Chuck when Chuck Side stepped and landed a right from up against the cage
stunning Sobral. Chuck then started raining down punches and connected with an uppercut which dropped
Sobral, Chuck began his ground and pound. Punishing Sobral and when he finally winced and turned his
back John McCarthy had seen enough and stepped in and stopped the fight. Renato Sobral was so
dazed he started fighting John McCarthy after the stoppage. Chuck once again proves why he is the Light
Heavyweight Champion because no one can take his devastating punches.

The rematch everyone has been waiting for Forrest Griffin Vs. Stephan Bonnar. We all loved the show
these two put on in the ring of The Ultimate Fighter finale. Many fans of the UFC believe this is the fight
which defined what the UFC is all about. So here you go UFC fight fans Rounds 4,5, and 6 from the first
fight. Round 1 started out with each fighter feeling each other out throwing punches. Stephan Bonnar was
throwing some good kicks including a spinning back kick. But like the first fight Forrest can give as good as
he gets landing a head kick that temporarily rocked Bonnar. After that Forrest looked cool calm and
collected picking out his shots as Bonnar looked determined to try and land a big shot often looking a little
desperate to do it. Round 1 ended with Forrest landing some good shots even one slightly after the bell for
which he apologized to the ref for. Round 2 began with Bonnar coming out throwing a little wild, And
Forrest throwing straight crisp shots to bonnars face. Forrest began bleeding under his right eye but he
was unfazed by it taking the center of the Octagon and throwing good combo's. Bonnar comes back in this
round exploding with a combo of his own and opening the cut under Forrest's eye a little more. The round
ends with a couple good jabs by Forrest and some good kicks by Bonnar who really turned it up in round
2. Round 3 and this is looking like the first fight both fighters come out throwing punches. Both Fighters
are bruised and bloody but neither fighter looking tired or even breathing hard. Both were landing good
shots but it was Forrest who was still controlling the center of the ring started picking Stephan Bonnar
apart landing almost all punches he threw. The final round came to close much like the first fight both
fighters throwing punches toe to toe in the center of the ring. Just like the first fight this fight was in the
judges hands. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 for the winner of the unanimous decision Forrest
Griffin. Once again this was a classic fight and if you haven't seen it I recommend you watch it. After the
fight it was unofficially reported that both fighters broke their hands. I hope and pray the UFC puts these
two together for a third time or as Stephan Bonnar put it the best of Five.

Nick Diaz Vs. Josh Neer. This fight was fun to watch. With Nick Diaz talking trash and taunting Josh Neer in
the beginning of round 1 while also throwing some quick shots to Neer's face. Neer responded with some
nice knee's but it was Diaz's defensive skills that were impressive in this round. He rocked Neer with a good
combo and then began teeing off of Josh Neer's head. A nice head kick by Diaz with 45 sec to go in the
round and Josh telling him to bring it on. As the round closes Diaz demonstrates some Tae Kwon Do Kicks
that were blocked by Neer. Round 2 started with a flurry of punches by Diaz, And Neer seeming
overwhelmed telegraphing his shots and missing. Nick Diaz landing punches at will from odd angles when
he knee's Neer who retreats back to get caught with a high kick that hurts him. Diaz Clearly in control as he
ended the round with 2 take downs and a little Ground and pound for Neer's troubles. Round 3 Began with
Diaz coming out confident and Josh Neer disparately throwing punches. A take down by Diaz and some
Ground N Pound against the cage leads to Diaz passing Neer's guard for side mount. Nick Diaz attepmts a
Kimura Submission and locks it in tight behind Neer's back posting his leg over his head and taps Josh
Neer for the submission of the night in 1:42 of round 3.

Cheick Kongo Vs. Christian Wellisch. Round 1 began with Christian coming out swinging and gaining a
take down after failing on his first attempt of a take down. Kongo leaves his arm out and Wellisch attempts
an Arm bar but Kongo uses his strength to escape and stand back up. Kongo delivers a devastating knee
to Wellisch's head and knocks out his mouth piece rocking him in the process. Kongo could not capitalize
due to Mario Yamasaki temporarily stopping action to replace Wellisch's mouthpiece. But that did not save
him, after action resumes Kongo delivers a left knee to Christian Wellisch's face which knocks him out and
the fight was stopped at 2:56 of round one. After the fight Kongo challenged Frank Mir.

Hermes Franca Vs. Jamie Varner  Round 1 began with a standing Guillotine attempt by Franca who was
slammed to the mat hard by Varner who escaped the attempt. Varner stood back up and threw some nice
kicks and landed some good punches. Franca was determined to try and make this a ground fight while
Varner kept taking back to stand up. Round 2 began with 2 take downs by Varner with varner taking his
back on one of those take downs only to be reversed and Franca putting him in his guard. Varner was
aggressive raining down punches and elbows from the guard. John McCarthy Stood the fighters up only to
have Varner take down Franca again. Franca attempted a triangle choke but Varner escaped. The round
ended with another take down by Varner and Varner dominating the round. Round 3 Hermes Franca
Comes out firing shots at Varner, and varner scores another take down. Franca stands back up knees
varner 3 times in the face knocking out his mouthpiece but while trying to capitalize he hits Varner with a
low blow. McCarthy calls time and deducts a point from Hermes Franca for the low blow and also allows
Varner to recover from the low blows as well as the knee's. Action resumes and Varner takes Franca down
who immediately tried a omla plata but switched into an Arm Bar and tapped Varner in 3:35 of round 3.
What a victory and Gift for Hermes Franca who announced it was his birthday.

Eric Schafer Vs. Rob Macdonald Round 1 Eric Schafer who was making his debut in the UFC tried a
standing Guillotine choke but Macdonald took him down and escaped into Schafer's guard. Schafer Rolled
Macdonald and quicklymounted him. Macdonald turned and it looked like Schafer was gonna take his back
but went for the head an arm triangle choke from side mount. Macdonald's arms went limp as he was
choked out and the referee stopped the fight at 2:26 of round 1.

Wilson Gouveia Vs. Wes Combs Round 1. Wilson Gouveia Comes out immediately takes Wes Combs
down. After a little chess match on the ground and some good ground and pound From Gouveia Combs
gives up his back. Locking in his hooks and flattening out Combs Gouveia secured a Rear Naked Choke
and before he even could properly lock it in Combs Taps in 3:23 of round 1.

Only Those fights were televised on pay per view and a great night of fights it was for the UFC. Some
future events include a big announcement by Dana White that Tito Ortiz Vs Ken Shamrock Oct 10th live on
Spike TV for free and also looking forward to the September 23rd fight between Matt Hughs Vs. BJ Penn.
These should be great fights and cant wait to see them.
