| About me: My name is George Martinez, I am married to the love of my life Jolene. I have two wonderful kids with one on the way. Jeremiah Lucero is my 18-year-old son and Nevaeh is my 2 and a half-year-old daughter. I am 37 years old. I was born in Gallup, New Mexico in June of 1971. I started boxing when I was 4 years old with my Dad and my uncles. Then when I turned 6 years old I joined Baca’s Boxing. I boxed until I was 9 years old. I had a record of 8-0. I joined Kim’s Karate at 9 years old until the age of 15. I took and passed every belt level test, but I wasn’t able to obtain any other belt color but white. I stayed a white belt on my Dad’s request. He had some strange idea that if I had a Black Belt I would get “cocky” and not want to advance my training anymore. He also said that the law would be hard on me if I were a Black Belt. I played football in high school. I played full back and linebacker. The fastest I ever ran the 40-yard dash is 4.9 seconds, but I used to stay around 5.0 seconds. I played at 230 lbs. After high school I just trained Boxing at home with my Dad and Uncles. At the age of 22 I watched something called the Ultimate Fighting Championship. I could not believe what I was watching. After that show I wore out my VHS copy. I started training some of the stuff that I watched on the UFC. All I could do was train at home, cause where I lived there wasn’t anything but Karate schools. So I just tried to stay in shape. Then in 1998 I started training at Fierce Protection Systems here in Gallup. I was one of the first 5 Original Team Fierce Members. Thanks to my training parners, Reggie Mitchell, Eddie Bortot, Mark Montelongo, and Matt Baker. We trained Boxing, Kick Boxing, Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Ty, and Conditioning. I am still known by the name that my training partners gave me. Well they didn't give it to me I earned it with all the ass whipping I took. George "The MexicanSuperman" Martinez. In 2004 I had to stop training for a number of reasons. One reason was that my Dad and I lost our businesses after we got behind on taxes. I went from making $6000.00 per month to making ZERO in a matter of one week. We lost everything, so I had to pick myself up and get a job. I remember when I got my first pay check $423.00. I was like what the hell is this; I spend more then this in the strip club in an hour. REALITY set in and I was like I can do this. My girlfriend now my wife helped me through some tough times. We had a baby on the way and I was working hard with no time to train. Then I found a new job at a medical supply. I advanced from low man to top guy in two years. In 2004 I couldn’t train, but I had to stay involved in the sport. I had a brainstorm about a website for New Mexico Fighters. So I started New Mexico MMA, I didn’t have a clue how to make a website, but I didn’t have any money to pay someone to make it. So I made it with the help of my wife and we still do it to this day. I could have someone remake it for me now, but why? This is a fighters website, it’s made by a fighter for fighters. I don’t need some NERD making my site. My site is the Biggest and Best site in New Mexico. I receive an average of 50,000 hits per day; no one else even comes close to that period. All my news is e-mailed, called in, or my-spaced to me. I don’t have to paste and copy my news from other websites. Another reason I had to stop training is that the head trainer moved and closed the school, so again I had nowhere to train. So since 2004 I have just ran my website and sit on the couch and get fat. The comeback starts October 2008. I am going to start training with some great fighters from Albuquerque. I don’t know if I am going to fight again, but I still need to get back in shape. Once I start training I will post who I am training with. That is my boring life, well most of it. I left out I use to own a Supplement store, raced BMX, I am a 8- time Arm Wrestling champion with a 96-1 record. And my wife says there is a beer named after me “Arrogant Bastard Ale”.
