NewMexicoMMA.com was ringside covering the first ever Pro
Mixed Martial Arts Event at Sky Ute Casino in Ignacio, Co. It
was a great St. Patrick's Day with 6 pro MMA fights. Resson
Messor stopped Brian Schoppman in the first round by ref
stoppage. Next fight had Matt Young from Durango taking out
Randy Blackwell by Rear Naked Choke in the 2nd round.
Aztec's own Ronnie Adair beat Colorado's Gary Borum by an
Arm Bar in the first round. In the Co-Main Event Mike Seal
outlasted a game John Cronk. Seal wins by tap out (fatigue)
at 4:25 in round 2. In the Main Event The FCFF Light Heavy
Weight Champion took on Farmington's Favorite fighter and
Head trainer of Team Four Corners Floyd Sword. This turned
out to be the biggest mismatch of the night. It took less than a
couple of minutes for Sword to get the win by Tap out (Arm
Bar). Before the Main Events Promoter Christopher Codeiro
introduced some Elite New Mexico Based Fighters. First up
was Keith Jardin, then Joey Villasenor and last but not lease
Rashad Evans. Each one of them took their turn with the mic.
It was cool to have 3 great fighters just walking around
signing autographs, taking pictures, and watching the fights.
Rashad confirmed his fight with The Huntington Beach Bad
Boy Tito Ortiz. What a great night of fights. Can't wait for
another Cordiero Promotions Event.
Thanks Christopher
